My name is John E. Bodnar and I am a photographer in Pittsburgh, PA. I have been shooting weddings since 2005 and enjoy working with couples, their friends, and families.
Photography began as a hobby in my teens, but I steadily kept with it and worked on trying to become better and trying to see what others done. My main style of photography is a mixture of photojournalism and art. I love to capture motion and lights, the action and celebratory atmosphere, and, also, the love between the newly weds.
One strong key point in the work I produce is I blend in with families, so it’s almost as if you do not have a photographer shooting your wedding. The major plus to this is your photographs have a more natural look to them and your photos will have a fun and vibrant feel.
I shoot in a digital format with my reliable Canon 50d and 20D. I have 32 gigabytes worth of memory cards and I always bring my MacBook Pro with me so that I can import photos and continue to photograph throughout the day. I also have a Canon Speedlite 430. When shooting formal photos after the ceremony, I use two B800 strobe flashes. I also use the programs Apple Aperture and Adobe Photoshop for editing photographs to their final product. The lenses I have for my camera are a 50mm, 18-55mm, 28-70mm, 70-200mm, and 70-300mm. And, when it comes time to order prints for albums and such, I order from Shutterfly.com and Adorama.
